Product Description

Levosimendan Injection has been administered for management of decompensated congestive heart failure. Main chemical of this injection has molecular formula C14H12N6O with molar mass of 280.28 g/mol and elimination half life of about 1 hour. It is a calcium sensitizer which increases cardiac contractility without any rise in Ca++ level. This injection enhances sensitivity of calcium to heart by exerting positive inotropic effects. It is also known to have vasodilatory effects that are achieved due to opening of ATP sensitive potassium channels. Levosimendan Injection shows bioavailability of about 85% with protein binding ability of 97 to 98%. It is mainly metabolized in liver and excreted in urine & feces.
