Adenosine has chemical formula C10H13N5O4 with molar mass of 267.241 g/mol. Mediated via A1 receptor, it is known to work by causing transient heart blockage in AV node and inhibiting activity of adenylyl cyclase. Upon administration, this chemical rapidly gets converted to inosine & adenosine monophosphate without any binding to protein. Adenosine Injection is known to be a purine nucleoside having adenine attached to ribofuranose moiety.
