Celecoxib Capsules are analgesic & anti-inflammatory drugs that are prescribed for treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and painful menstruation. They work by inhibiting activity of COX-2 enzyme that is responsible for production of pain causing prostaglandins. Celecoxib is known to have chemical formula C17H14F3N3O2S with molar mass of 381.373 g/mol. They are also admired for having anti-cancer activity which is exerted by binding to cadherin-11. Celecoxib Capsules get metabolized in liver by CYP2C9 enzyme and have excellent protein binding ability of 97% with elimination half life of 7.8 hours. After metabolism, they get excreted in feces and urine.
