Once treatment using the drug begins, fluid intake must be increased. The side effects that have been observed in users of the drug include constipation, nausea anemia, diarrhea, psychiatric disorders, anorexia and neuralgia. The drug can result in a change in vision, weakness and dizziness owing to which tasks that require alertness such as operating heavy machinery and driving must be avoided. The drug is known to lower the ability of the body to form clots that prevent excessive bleeding. Thus activities that can lead to cuts and bruises must be avoided. The drug may result in some unwanted effects such as vomiting, reduced blood platelets, nausea, psychiatric disturbances, fever, appetite loss, anemia, decreased energy, constipation, diarrhea, lowered white blood cell count, peripheral neuropathy.
